How it all began…
I love nothing more than exploring the beautiful towns and countryside around the UK.
As I was walking the Tissington Trail in Derbyshire one day, I sat down on a well placed bench for a minute to take in the view. On the bench was a memory plaque, a dedication to Ray Reading…..
As I rested my (extremely) weary legs, I read the plaque on the bench and it did indeed make me smile. It made me think about Ray and although I didn’t know him, to know that his family and friends had thought of Ray so fondly to place a plaque in his honour made me feel warm inside.
From that moment on, whenever I visited places I decided to take photos of any memory benches, or similar, and create a website as a reminder of the people that loved these places and had such lovely memories there.
I really hope you enjoy looking at the site as much as I have making it. All of the pictures on the site are my own, and those that people send in to me. It will be updated with new benches when I see them, so please do come back to see all the new beautiful memorials I find on my travels.
