Jodrell Bank is home to the Lovell Telescope, one of the biggest and most powerful telescopes in the world. As it is located in Cheshire, famous for the Cheshire Plains, on a clear day the telescope can be seen from miles around (I think my the favourite time I saw it was from the Roaches).

The site is open to visitors, and is a interesting day out with lots of space trivia and knowledge, walks through the arboretum and if you are lucky, you might just be there when the telescope moves, which is definitely something worth watching.

I love Jodrell Bank; I’ve driven past more times than I can remember on my way to Manchester and seeing the telescope always makes me smile. So when I found the below benches there, I was made up that I could add this beautiful place on my website.

Nantwich

Nantwich is a quiet little town in Cheshire. Having lived down the road in Crewe for the majority of my life, I have been to Nantwich more times than I can count (albeit mainly for sixth form, haircuts and many, many nights out). When I was younger, I never really appreciated how pretty the town is but as I’ve gotten older, with its independent shops and history, I’ve come to realise that Nantwich really is a great place to visit, have a wander round and enjoy a coffee and cake in one of its many coffee shops.

The benches I’ve found so far in Nantwich were mainly by the lake, and a few in the town centre, although there were a lot that I couldn’t take a photo of (it was a beautiful day and people were making the most of some time in the sunshine). Luckily I’m not too far away so will definitely be taking a trip another time to try and photo the rest that I’ve missed.

Teggs Nose Country Park in Macclesfield and is on the edge of the Peak District. The highest point of the park used to be a quarry, with the evidence of this along the route. There are lots of walks around the park, including one that takes you down to the 2 reservoirs and Macclesfield forest, and the views across the Cheshire Plain are pretty special.

The benches I found were in the top part of the park, one of which was next to a library which would be a nice place to stop and rest and take in the scenery.
