Housesteads – Hadrian’s Wall
Since I was small, Hadrian’s Wall has had a special place in my heart. My first memory of visiting was on holiday with my mum, dad and brother, and I was captivated by how intimidating the wall was, perched along a hilltop in such dramatic, yet beautifully peaceful surroundings. Housesteads Roman Fort is located on a hillside along the wall near Hexham, and is one of the most incredible places to visit. It is a World Heritage site, has some of the oldest ruins in the country and has stunning 360 degree views over the Northumberland countryside.
This bench was located in the fort itself.
