Mike 💞

Mike Turner, affectionately known as Mr T, was a close and very special friend. He worked with Team Assessments at Keele University Medical School for many years, and was all known to the team as our ‘work dad’.

Mike was a larger than life character with a heart of gold. He was friendly to everyone he met, always had a wonderful and interesting story to tell, and always filled the working days with fun (although it can’t go unnoticed that his name was a prominent feature on the office naughty list).

Although he pretended to not like Christmas, we always fondly remember the annual Christmas nights out we had with him, especially those at Wetherspoons with his 50p drink vouchers that got dusted off each year for that very special occasion.

Mike loved working at Keele as much as we loved working with him. He was a friend to colleagues and students alike, and those that knew him always remember him with a smile. As a tribute to Mike, there is a bench and a plaque in the courtyard garden of the Medical School, something to remind us all of the wonderful man he was and the beautiful memories he left behind.
