Bangor

Bangor, North Wales, is the oldest city in Wales. Overlooking the island of Anglesey with the hills of Snowdonia behind it, Bangor is a Cathedral city and home to the 2nd longest pier in Wales, which reaches out across the Menai Straights, and is popular with fishermen.

The benches below were all found on the pier (along with a lovely little cafe halfway along the pier, which made a tasty breakfast sandwich and much needed cup of coffee). I’d recommend a visit to the pier if you are ever that way, as the views in every direction are incredible and highlight why so many people thought of it as their happy place.
