Wales
What can I say about Wales….being a former “Jones” nothing but good things obviously!!
North Wales
The good thing with living where I do is the closeness to the North Wales coast. If I’m ever stuck for a day out, I always seem to end up there. I did a lot of my walk training in Llandudno, spent many family day trips in Rhos on Sea and one infamous yet brilliant family holiday in Trearddur Bay, Anglesey. The fact that you can look one way across sand and sea, and then turn 180 degrees and see Snowdonia in all it’s dominating glory makes the North Wales coast one of my happy places and is definitely somewhere that will always be special to me.
The picture below is of Penmon Point in Anglesey, and is dedicated to my wonderful friend Mike, who we sadly lost in December 2020 and will be forever loved and missed. He told me this was one of his favourite views and places, and I can see why.

Mid Wales
I have spent a lot of time visiting relatives in Aberdovey and Tywyn and have so many memories of our trips there. How our dog Denver seemed to know exactly when we were close and starting to get excited to know how spoilt he would be when we got there, and so so many games of putting by the sea front (though my memory doesn’t recall me winning many of those games). Oh and my dad recalling tales of his ”4 jobs before going to school” days, which incidentally all fell apart once he told us one of them was putting the date stamps on eggs…don’t ask!
South Wales
I have to confess, although having been to South Wales on a lovely holiday on the Gower Peninsular, I haven’t explored this part of Wales even a quarter as much as North and Mid Wales. However, I am proud to say I have been to Cardiff and sat in the Millennium Stadium (sorry, Principality Stadium), though not to see our beloved Welsh Dragons play rugby, but to see Coldplay play live, which was an absolute highlight of life for me and something that I’ll never forget. Though to watch rugby next time I promise Dad…
