St Andrews
St Andrews has to be one of my most favourite places in the world. Not because I am massive golf fan (although playing putting on the Himalayas, alongside the Old Course is a must). When I was younger, we went on holiday to St Andrews a number of times and it really is a town that has everything; a magnificent beach (as featured in Chariots of Fire), a picturesque harbour, bustling high street and beautiful castle and cathedral ruins. Close enough for a day trip to Edinburgh (trips from here gave me my love for the Edinburgh Fringe) and the chance to go over the Forth Road bridge to get there is a definite plus point.
