Arboretum
The National Memorial Arboretum is located in Alrewas, Staffordshire. The Arboretum is made up of a collection of almost 400 memorials and tributes to those that have served and are currently serving the country.
The memorials are spread over the 150 acre site, and it is a really peaceful place to walk round and reflect. There is a land train that gives you a tour around the site (I can vouch for this being fun for everyone, big or small) and the volunteers that work there are incredibly friendly, proud and very knowledgeable if you have any questions about the memorials themselves.
I have visited the Arboretum twice now, and although I wanted to include it on this website, was worried that the number of memorials and benches (due to the nature of what the Arboretum is) may be too big to fit on the Staffordshire page. However, my parents recently visited to see my brother, wife and their children (my beautiful niece and nephew 🥰) after the long slog of the winter lock down, and my dad sent some bench pictures to me. It made my mind up to dedicate a whole page to this incredible place. My dads photos are shown below, and if anyone visits and sends pictures from the Arboretum to me, I will include them on this page.
