Frimley Lodge Park
Frimley Lodge Park was somewhere I visited on another trip down to London. The park is near Farnborough, and is wonderful place for families, with the biggest ride on miniature railway I have ever seen. Unfortunately I wasn’t allowed on the train, but instead went for a walk along the canal that runs alongside the park, which turned out to be so gorgeous it made me forget the train disappointment in an instant.
Hampton Court Palace
Hampton Court Palace is a royal palace not far from London, the river Thames just skirting the edge of the grounds. Building of the palace started in 1529 and is most famous for being the most favourite homes of Henry VIII.
The palace is in a beautiful location and full of history. There are several sections to look round dedicated to the different eras and the people that resided there. The grounds overlook the Thames, has formal and woodland areas and also a maze (that when mentioned, always makes me think of Only Fools and Horses). Oh and the cafe was home to some of the biggest pastries I have ever seen!!
There were a huge amount of benches in the grounds of the palace, and it was a joy to wander round and capture them all. A lot were dedicated to staff of the palace, which I think is a testament to how lovely the area is.
Weybridge
The trip to Weybridge was only a quick one as part of a trip to stay near London. Located near to the river Thames, we parked in a car park on the banks of the river and had a walk along the river path, which was especially glorious in the beautiful weather we were lucky to have.
We were only there for an hour so only found a small amount of benches but the location added to the weather definitely made me want to go back to explore a little more.
